My guiding theory and thought process is best summarized in this quote by Alfred Adler:
Jasia's hope as co-founder of Therapy Helps is 'to guide people in their search for meaning’. Jasia graduated with Masters in Counseling from Southern Methodist University in 2012. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trained in Clinical Hypnosis. Jasia specializes in treating Complex Trauma (C-PTSD) and Dissociative Disorders.
Jasia has worked with torture survivors at CST, in the Trauma Department at Timberlawn Mental Health Hospital under the Collin Ross Institute, with The Victim Intervention Program at Parkland Hospital, as a resident counselor for pregnant women and women with children (PPWC) struggling with addiction at Nexus Recovery Center, and as a counselor for both inpatient and outpatient programs for various mental health hospitals before opening her private practice in 2018. She is a member of Texas Counseling Association, EMDRIA, the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH).
Jasia grew up in a society struggling to accept the reality of mental health problems and hesitant to reach out for help. Through her personal struggles she gained the ability to challenge thoughts and feelings and the capacity to maintain calm in the face of a storm. Jasia came to Dallas, Texas in 2009 and got married to her wonderful husband. She is the mother of two very energetic boys and 5 amazing cats. In her free time she likes to read books and play word games.
