Group Counseling

Group Counseling is a highly effective, evidence-based modality that utilizes the power of shared experience and interpersonal dynamics to facilitate healing and personal growth. At Therapy Helps, our group services provide a safe, confidential environment where individuals can gain support, develop coping strategies, and realize they are not alone in their struggles.

Group Structure

  • Size & Duration: Groups typically consist of 5 to 10 participants and meet for 60 to 90 minutes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Facilitation: Led by professional and empathetic clinicians to ensure equitable participation, and maintain ethical boundaries.
  • Confidentiality: All members sign a strict confidentiality agreement to protect the privacy and identity of everyone in the room.
  • Screening: Prior to joining, each participant undergoes a brief screening to ensure the group is a clinical fit for their specific needs.

Clinical Benefits

  • Multiple Perspectives: Gaining diverse insights into a single problem.
  • Cost-Effectiveness: Accessing high-quality clinical care at a more accessible rate than individual sessions.
  • Accountability: Benefiting from the collective encouragement of peers to meet personal goals.
  • Social Learning: Gaining real-time feedback and the observation of healthy communication patterns.
  • Cohesion: A sense of belonging and collective strength that encourages emotional vulnerability and risk-taking.
